Junk food alternatives, Junk food has grown so much in us that it is impossible to completely give up on it. As proven, junk food can cause various health issues like obesity, heart attack,cholesterol and diabetes. So it is high time for us to reduce the consumption of junk and go for healthier options. We need to start from grass root level to implement these changes in our diet. Multigrain bread instead of normal bread.
Normal bread is made with maida or all purpose flour which contributes to LDL cholesterol, diabetes by disrupting blood sugar and increased blood pressure. Multi grain bread on the other hand is made from a mixture of pulses like ajwa, jowar, soya and wheat.
Fresh juice instead of aerated drinks
Fresh juice with no added sugar is an instant source of energy and they are rich in nutrients like vitamin C, beta carotene and vitamin E. It also has antioxidants and soluble fibre. Aerated drinks with humongous added sugar, preservatives and caffeine can cause health issues like diabetes, cholesterol etc.
Frozen yogurt instead of ice cream
One cup of regular vanilla ice cream contains 275 calories, 15 grams of fat, and 9 grams of saturated fat.
But one cup of regular vanilla frozen yogurt contains 221 calories, 6 grams of fat and 4 grams of saturated fat.
Banana bread instead of cake
Banana bread is a good source of protein, magnesium, fiber, healthy fats. As bananas give sweetness it has a little/no sugar. A good frosted cake slice has an average of 302 calories. So go for the healthier or even the tastier alternative.
Smoothie instead of milkshakes
Smoothies can be made with yogurt, berries and dry fruits. As berries contribute enough sweetness,you don’t have to add any sugar. Also yogurt is healthier than milk.bMilkshakes have added sugar, ice cream and artificial flavours which make it much less healthier.
